Concept explainers
Blow over the tops of two identical empty bottles and see if the tone produced is of the same pitch. Then put one in a freezer and try the procedure again. Sound will travel more slowly in the colder denser air of the cold bottle and the note will be lower. Try it and see.

To Explain: The effect on the pitch of the sound when two bottles are placed in two different media
Explanation of Solution
When the bottle is placed in the freezer then their vibrations of the molecules are carried out slowly. These vibrations have the lower frequency and hence, they reach to ears and are characterized as a low pitch.
Conclusion:
By placing the bottle inside the freezer, the sound travels slower in the colder denser medium. The pitch of the sound is lower in the colder bottle than that in the hotter bottle.
