Introduction:
For the demonstration of the light’s wave like behavior, an experiment called the double slit experiment was
Similarities:
- For both sound waves and light waves, a source of single frequency works well.
- For the interference pattern that has to be observed, the sources must be coherent in both cases.
- At some distance away from the slits, a pattern is observed in both the cases. In case of light waves (dark and bright fringes) while in case of sound wave (high and low intensity).
Differences:
- The difference between the both cases is that the slits in case of light waves should be much closer than that in the case of sound waves.
