Summary Introduction

To review:

The importance of the pulmonary circulation.

Introduction:

The oxygen-rich or oxygenated blood from the lungs goes to the heart's left atrium and it then moves to the heart's left ventricle. From the left ventricle, blood is pumped to the whole body. Deoxygenated blood is carried by the veins from the different body tissues to the right atrium. Right atrium passes the deoxygenated blood to lungs through the right ventricle. Thus, the circulation, wherein the deoxygenated blood is transported from the right ventricle to the lungs, after that, the oxygenated blood from the lung's air sacs is returned to the left atrium is called pulmonary circulation.
