To explain: Effect on spoon in terms of pressure difference.
Answer to Problem 69A
Pressure decrease as spoon go downward .
Explanation of Solution
Introduction:
According to Bernoulli’s principle pressure on water column at Height H is given as
This means with a decrease in height pressure will also decrease.
According to Bernoulli principle, the pressure on the spoon at the bottom will be less because the velocity of flow of water is greater at the bottom and the height of water column from surface of Earth is smaller. On the other hand the pressure on the spoon near the tap will be large because the velocity of flow of water is less at the top and the height of water column from surface of Earth is greater.
Conclusion:
Pressure decrease as spoon go downwards.
