Hemostasis is a process through which bleeding is stopped when there is an injury. There are fivestages of hemostasis:
1.Vascular Spasm
2.Formation of platelets plug
3. Coagulation of blood
4.Clot retraction
5.Clot dissolution
Platelets play a vital role in the reaction that occurs after a blood vessel injury, during which platelets come near the vessel’s wall, carry out a release reaction, and then accumulate as a result of the materials released from platelets.
