Ex. (16): When a system is taken from state A to state B along the path ACB.
80 J of heat flow into the system and the system does 30 J of work.
Three moles of a diatomic ideal gas are taken through a three process thermodynamic cycle. The gas initially has a pressure of 9.00 atm with a temperature of 600 K (point A). The gas it then expanded isobarically to point B where the volume is 32.0 L. The gas is compressed via an isothermal process (point C). The gas is then expanded adiabatically back to its initial state.
Compute all unknown pressures, temperatures, and volumes and organize them into a table.
Find the work done going from point C to point A?
What is the heat added to the system going from B to C?
What is the change in internal energy going from A to B?
What is the change in entropy going from A to B?
