Interpretation:
The amount of excess solid solute present in a solution does not affect the amount of solute that ultimately dissolves in a given amount of solvent is to be explained.
Concept Introduction :
The Solution is a combination of solute and solvent. The Solute is present in a small amount in solution while the solvent is present in a large amount. The solution should be concentrated or diluted that depends only on the number of moles of solute which is present in a particular amount of the solvent. The solubility depends on its solubility product.

Answer to Problem 46A
Firstly when the solid is added to the given solvent, then is dissociated into its ions and due to which the ion’s concentration increases. After reaching a particular amount, the solid we add do not dissolve at this time. This is known as the equilibrium state where the ions are colliding more and more and rebuild the solid. So, at this state two opposing forces processes take place at the same rate. These two opposing forces are dissolving reaction and the reverse reaction.
Explanation of Solution
When a solute is dissolved in a given solvent then the solution is formed. The Solid solute is dissolved in the given solvent until the particular limit during the addition of solid solute into the water. Rest part of the solute is settling down in the flask. With the passes of time, the reaction is reached at the equilibrium state where the two opposite forces processes are occurring at the same rate. The solids reform as these processes occur at the same rate.
On reaching the equilibrium state,dissolving and reverse reactionstake place to reform the solid.
