Introduction:

Phototrophs uses the energy from sunlight to suffice their energy requirement by synthesizing their own nutrients. Chemotrophs suffice their energy requirement for oxidizing chemicals that are present in the environment.

Autotrophs synthesize complex organic compounds from simple chemicals named carbon fixation. Heterotrophs are incapable of manufacturing their own food by carbon fixation, thus they take them from the environment.
