Introduction:
Autonomic regulation is completely based on three components baroreceptors, chemoreceptors and sensory afferents. The signals produced by these receptors are integrated by the brain stem. The enteric nervous system is the main part of the ANS which controls the functioning of the gastrointestinal tract. It controls two kinds of activity autonomic and local reflexes.
