Concept explainers
To find: The examples and differences of discrete and continuous probability distribution.
Answer to Problem 23HP
The examples and differences of discrete and continuous probability distribution are discussed.
Explanation of Solution
When the random variable is discrete variable then the probability distribution is discrete probability distribution and the example is flipping of coin and when the random variable is continuous variable then the probability distribution is continuous probability distribution and the example is height and the weight of a person.
The discrete probability distribution can easily be expressed in tabular form while continuous probability distribution is not. The other difference is the continuous probability distribution can easily be calculated using formula while discrete probability distribution is not.
Thus, the examples and differences of discrete and continuous probability distribution are discussed.
