The temperature and pressure at which liquid or gas is neither a true liquid nor a true gas is called a supercritical point.
The vacuum pump is used to remove air or gas particles from the container. The removal of air leads to a decrease in pressure inside the container. The boiling point of a liquid is defined as the temperature at that vapor pressure becomes equal to external pressure.
