I cat`s BMI is 18.7, II cat`s BMI is 15.88 and III cat`s BMI is 23.45.

Given information:

Formula for calculating Body mass index (BMI) is given, that uses the circumference around its rib cage and the length of its back leg from knee to ankle as shown in below table:

Formula used:

Formula to calculate BMI of different cats is:

$BMI=\frac{\frac{\text{Circumference}}{0.7062}-\text{leg length}}{0.9156}-\text{leg length}$

Calculation:

Using above formula,

I cat`s $BMI=\frac{\frac{17.5}{0.7062}-40}{0.9156}-4=\frac{24.78-4}{0.9156}-4$

  $\begin{array}{l}=\frac{20.78}{0.9156}-4\\ =22.7-4\\ =18.7\end{array}$

II cat`s $BMI=\frac{\frac{15}{0.7062}-3.5}{0.9156}-3.5=\frac{21.24-3.5}{0.9156}-3.5$

  $\begin{array}{l}=\frac{17.74}{0.9156}-3.5\\ =19.38-3.5\\ =15.88\end{array}$

III cat`s $BMI=\frac{\frac{20.3}{0.7062}-38}{0.9156}-3.8=\frac{28.75-3.8}{0.9156}-3.8$

So, by above calculation, I cat`s BMI is found as 18.7, II cat`s BMI as 15.88 and III cat`s BMI as 23.45.
