Concept Introduction: Chemistry is a fundamental science that investigates and studies molecules. In chemistry, the scientific method is a systematic way of collecting evidence to support theories/ concepts. In scientific disciplines, the term “model”, “experiment”, “observation”, “theory” and “law” holds different meanings of phenomena.

Theory: Theory is an explanation of events or observations.
Experiment: An experiment is a way to test a hypothesis.
Natural law: Natural law is any phenomenon which can be observed in nature.
Hypothesis: The hypothesis is a testable, tentative explanation for observations.
Explanation of Solution
Theory: Theory is a group of connected ideas or concepts intended to describe something. It involves question- “why” or “how anything/ somethings happens. It is based on inference.
Experiment: Testing any supposition, principle, etc. is defined as an experiment. It is also known as a test, tentative, trial procedure of uncovering something unknown.
Natural law: Law summarizes a set of observation about natural phenomena. It is based on hypotheses and evidences. Natural law is concise descriptions of natural phenomena.
Hypothesis: The hypothesis is a specific, testable prediction. It elaborates, in concrete terms, what a person (or chemist) expects will happen in a certain circumstance.
The terms theory, experiment, natural law, hypothesis are not same.
