Discusssion: The Patriot Academy is a leadership bootcamp that began in 2003 founded by Rick Green(Patriot Academy, 2016).Green was an attorney that was elected to become a member of the Texas House of Representatives. He had a vision that he wanted to train the future generation of political leaders in a hands-on environment that provides political training along with adhering to conservative principles. He gathered a group of friends and colleagues to share the idea with. This group of people began working on the program between 1998 and 2000(Patriot Academy, 2016). By 2003, the first bootcamp was held in Texas at the state capitol. At the bootcamp, students learn valuable skills such as public relations, communication skills, public speaking, campaign skills, leadership skills and strategies, and life purpose plans(Patriot Academy, 2016).The Patriot Academy is training the future leaders of America which affects the Nation as a whole. This academy is contributing and hoping to make an impact for a better future for us all. This organization emphasizes Christian values within their program. This is so great for future politicians to have access to because Christian values are not prevalent in our current government. On the website there is a section with student and leader testimonials. One student stated that the program helped strengthen her faith with the Lord(Patriot Academy, 2016).Many of the students are very thankful for the life-long friends they made while at the academy.
