The Trusteeship Idea was introduced in Georgia by James Oglethorpe and a few other Englishmen. They wanted to establish a new colony between the Altamaha and Savannah rivers. Oglethorpe and his associates assumed the role of trustees and began petitioning for a charter in the year 1730, the monarch King George II signed the Trustees a charter for 21 years in the region of Georgia. This ultimately created the colony of Georgia.
