The Japanese Attack on Pearl Harbour on December 7, 1941, was labelled as a day of infamy by then President Roosevelt. Indeed the attack was so swift and surprising that there was little time to anticipate it, much less intercept. The cause of the attack was directed at the events of World War II which saw one nation pitted against other in the desire for victory. However, there were certain other underlying aspirations behind the offensive.
