Psychological testing includes administration of psychological tests. Psychological tests can be defined as tool that is employed to measure psychological units like personality, intelligence, attitude, interest, achievement, motivation, etc. Psychological test have a enormous scope and application as it is applied in different settings from clinical, organizational, industrial, forensic, etc. Psychological tests are also administered in the process of counseling. Any psychological test examines patterns of behavior relating to particular psychological variable.

A good psychological test should possess some traits. These are:

1) A good psychological tests should be objective in nature and not subjective. It should be free from any kind of biasness.

2) Psychological tests should be standardized. This means, that procedure that is followed while administering and scoring the test should be consistent.

3) A good psychological test should be valid, this means that, it should measure what it proposes to measure.

4) Psychological tests should be reliable.

5) A psychological test which is good should be extensive, that is, the test measures all the facets of the constructs that it measure. 

6) Lastly, a good psychological test should be able to distinguish between 2 individuals on a particular variable that the test is measuring.
