INTRODUCTION :

r II mutants : 

Bacteriophage T4 is a virus which is responsible for infection in the bacteria E.coli. It causes many mutations by cross linking of genes(genetic crossing) and other gene editings.

The r II mutants (mutation causing part) of the virus, Bacteriophage T4, are the special mutant strains which are very different from its standard type of mutants.

The difference lies in being active or inactive on the different strains of E.coli during the infection by Bacteriophage         T4 (bacteria eater), which causes the lysis ( total breakdown ) of the bacteria E.coli.
