On the first day of a child's life, a baby may not fully understand but he or she can hear and start to recognize different sounds around them. Parents need to be face-to-face with their babies to allow them to develop a way to communicate with them. The most important way to communicate with a baby is through his or her facial expression and their cries. In the video Born to Talk, the three moms notice different gestures and facial expressions that allow them to know what the baby wants or needs during the conversations. In the video, I did notice that each interaction married theory by Vygotsky. Vygotsky theories expresses that social interaction is vital in language development. In the video, I noticed that the moms began talking with their children and the children used facial expressions, cooing, and physical movement to allow the mom and dad to understand what their little ones wanted and how the baby was feeling during the exchange from child to parent.
