SSW 571 – Peer Evaluation & Feedback Form – Provide specific examples to support your feedback: Strengths from a consumer perspective Suggestions to enhance consumer access and support Strengths from a Clinicians perspective Suggestions to enhance consumer access and support Title and Navigation – Welcoming home page and easy to navigate The title page is inviting. I like the “Welcome” and the mission, values, and vision listed here. The title page draws me in and I am excited to venture through the site. The tabs at the top support easy navigation. I like the addition of a search bar if I am not sure what I am looking for and need help finding it As a consumer, I may not be familiar with DBT. Perhaps where the text is mentioned, this could be a link that goes to the information about DBT. I like that the chosen modality is mentioned on the title page. If I were a clinician seeking information on utilizing DBT with a trauma recovery group, I would immediately be drawn in. Perhaps having DBT on a separate page with a link in the navigation menu so that if I wanted to find this without having to click through areas this would be a quick way to navigate to it. Utilizing the search bar pulled up several areas where DBT is mentioned so having a link at the top in the navigation menu would be helpful. General Information Section Psychoeducation information and materials helpful to someone seeking information and help The general information is easy to understand. The visual aids add to the appeal and enhance understanding. I like the visual that emphasizes what can cause trauma. This can promote a relational aspect and sense of not being alone. Honestly, no suggestions to enhance this at this time. I think the layout of the page is easy to follow and understand. I could see a clinician using some of the sources and information provided here for group and individual sessions. None that I can think of. Great job! Clinical Information Again, easy to One suggestion I have is I think the information Again, I think introducing
Section –Information on symptoms, strengths- based and trauma- informed theories with an emphasis on group treatment understand. The page flows well from definition, types of, impact, treatment and approach, moving into the chosen approach. The page flows nicely and the visuals add to its appeal. introduce DBT in the sentence above the heading about DBT. This will continue the flow through the page. provided here is easy to understand from a consumer and clinicial perspective. The page flows well and information can be incorporated into current services DBT in the sentence above the heading OR a separate page that is dedicated to DBT is helpful Personal Testimonial Section – Relevant and engaging examples of personal testimonials from the web or other sources from people who have publicly shared their struggle with this issue I like the categories used on this page. I also like the use of videos under testimonials. It gives a personal feel. Additionally, if I didn’t have time or desire to watch the videos, the photo testimonials create a desire to become a trauma survivor. I like the use of videos and pictures but perhaps some text of quoted testimonials or text of quotes from the videos could enhance the importance of healing from trauma. The videos could be used as resources to support current services. The testimonials categorized are useful to pinpoint what is helpful to clinician in that moment. Perhaps incorporate the phases of trauma recovery on this page Curriculum Overview and Literature – Clear descriptive overview of group being offered, group curriculum outline, number of sessions, and length of sessions I like the drop down menu with the weeks separated. This would help me navigate to whichever week I might be wondering about. Perhaps I am a consumer concerned about how the group ends – I could immediately go to week 8 and review this rather than working through all the weeks to get to it. When I went to week 1- the page within the page was a bit confusing. I thought I was clicking home to return to the group home page and was taken somewhere else. I appreciate the resources provided regarding handouts and activities. Some weeks have restricted documents – week 4 and 7 have visuals I cannot see. Weekly Curriculum - Provides sufficient structure and materials to support the facilitation I like the visuals and generalized structure provided for each week. I like the incorporation of There were a few areas that I need to request areas for the visual (week 7 curriculum) As I navigate through the weekly curriculum, I appreciate all the visuals, resources and information provided. I think areas where Restricted documents need to be corrected.
of each group session a 5 minute break. The visuals on the page aid in greater understanding of what to expect for each week. I like that at the bottom of each page I have the option to go to the next week and check references for more information. It would be helpful to have clear time frame of each structure. I noticed some of the weeks listed 5 min, 20 min, etc – but I noticed areas where it was more generalized. As a consumer who might be interested, I’d want to know time frame for specified discussions and activities. timeframe are listed are also beneficial. Goals and Norms Guidelines and helpful hints for clinicians on how to facilitate development of goals and norms in relational groups I like the guide of introducing goals and norms Some consumers may be intimidated by “goals” and unsure what that might look like. Examples of goals in this type of setting would be beneficial. Great guide on introduction of these items Would like to see examples provided Ending and Transition Provides examples and resources for transitions and endings in addition to the specific curriculum outlined for the final week(s) Week 8 talks about bringing it all together and reflection Participation in a mindfulness skill, the video was a great resource on this week. Potential for discussion of future need What activities will be incorporated to support participants as the group ends? Will members have closure with the termination of the group? There are examples such as mindfulness and a sense of “bringing it all together” as the group ends Would like to see more information on group activity suggestions for closure, what options will be available for participants who need additional support, and example of questions on the process evaluation
