Response: Dear Edoardo, this week I would really like to share with you some of the most important principles and ordinances
we belie to be true in our church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. In order to start I would like to
explain you the first principle of the Gospel that is Faith and specifically Faith in Jesus Christ. Having Faith in Jesus
Christ mean to believe that He is really the only begotten son of the Father and that He was prepared and come here
on earth to atone for our physical and spiritual death. Alma 32:21 is telling us that having Faith in him means that
even if we did not see Him, we strongly believe that He did really perform this great atoning miracle. Once we will
develop Faith in Him, we will recognize that as human we do daily mistake, big or small and because of this we are
called to repent of our mistake and to do our best to follow Him. In Mosiah 26:28-32 we can read that the
repentance process is essential to be numbered into the People of God. A great act of love, in order to show Him our
love for Him, is to follow His example entering in covenants with Him being baptized by immersion, exactly as He
showed us when He came here on earth as explained in 2 Nephi 31:5 where we can see the perfect example of
Christ’s obedience to His father The second step would be to receive the gift of the Holy Ghost that would be a
personal and eternal companion to guide us and protect us from dangers. If we will continue to do our best here on
earth and making some higher covenants with Our Heavenly Father and Our Savior Jesus Christ, we will be promised
eternal life with them and our eternal families. Word Count: 313 4. Synthesis: Personal Relevance and Application to the Real World
There are many serious challenges people encounter on a daily basis that are consequences
of living in a fallen world. The gospel truths taught in the Articles of Faith have tremendous power to help people find answers, rise above problems, or simply feel God's love and concern for them again.
Each week you will choose an issue (below) and think deeply about how the truths in that week’s Article of Faith can offer hope to those who are experiencing the problem. If you have another issue that particularly interests you, then choose your own:
abortion
abuse/bullying
addiction
depression
divorce
domestic violence
energy/environmental issues
violence
gambling
genocide
homosexuality
international terrorism
materialism
natural disasters
pornography
unemployment
poverty
racial strife/hatred
religious intolerance/persecution
threats to religious liberty
same-sex marriage
suicide
Scenario: Imagine you are speaking to someone who has experienced or has concerns about
the issue you have chosen. What would you share from the doctrine and fundamental truths that you have studied this past week to help that person? Include why you think these truths and doctrine are helpful and what they have meant to you. Be encouraging with the truths you know.
Write a response in at least 300-450 words
and list your word count at the end of your response.
5.
The world problem/issue I chose this week is:
Unemployment
Response: Dear friend, I am really grateful to have the opportunity to share with you today some really important experience and personal
feeling I have regarding a similar experience you are facing now in your life. Losing a job is never a good situation
because we know how much it is important in order to support ourselves and eventually our families. I testify that
each time I had a similar situation in my life. I have always been really close to Our Heavenly Father and even if I was
feeling down and discouraged, I was still trying to do my best to find a solution. Having faith in Jesus Christ was the
motivation that kept me moving on even in time of difficulties. I know it is not easy to find motivations when we are
in difficult times, but we would need to understand that Our Savior Jesus Christ came here on the earth to
experience all our material and spiritual challenges that we are facing in our lives and he really can understand us
and support us. Once we will develop this special relationship with Him of faith and full trust, we will be willing to
change something in our lives in order to get closer to Our Savior and become mole like Him. In all this process it is
really important to keep a personal relationship with Our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ through our personal
prayers with them in order to keep the companionship of the Holy Ghost every day in every decision we are called to
make. Once we will have this connection well established, we will be willing to do whatever they are asking us to do
and the first step to show them that we really love them, is to follow the example of Jesus Christ and being baptized
as He did when he came here on earth and receiving the Gift of the Holy Ghost by worthy priesthood holders. Once
entered in covenant with them life will still full of challenges and trials but we will have at least the continue
companionship of the Holy Ghost in order to protect us and direct us. I promise you, my friend, that this is true. As I

told you. This does not mean you will not have difficult times in your life but with their help you will know how to
overcome any situation. I know these things are true because I experienced time of trials and with their support and
loving cares, I was able to overcome even difficult situation in life. I hope you will experience as well by yourself this
special relationship, asking them if these things are true or not and they will answer your prayers touching your
heart. Word Count: 457
