Unit 11 Study Questions Crishtine A. Sundar The Chicago School of Professional Psychology AB 564-Behavior Assessment B Scott. Larson-McGuire June 14, 2022 ]
Unit 11 Study Questions Kanne et al. (2011) 1. The Autism Diagnostic Interview - Revised (ADI-R) was administered to parents. What areas of autism symptomology are scored in this assessment? (1 pt) In the ADI-R reciprocal, the areas scored are reciprocal social interaction, repetitive, restricted, and stereotyped patterns of behavior and language/communication. The ADI-R is also scored via an algorithm with a cutoff for the diagnosis of ASD. These are adaptive functioning. 2. How does the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS) differ from the ADI-R? (2 pts) ADI-R can explore the history of a client/ child’s early development through parental/ guardian interviews. ADOS provides crucial information about the client/ child’s functioning through their current social, communication, and play through a structured playing session. ADI- R has an anamnestic interview and can focus mainly on the ages around 4-5 years old, whilst ADOS has one on one direct observations 3. Did the authors find what they expected when they looked at the relationship between the ADI-R/ADOS assessments and the WISC-IV? What aspect of their inclusion/exclusion criteria for participation may have been responsible? (2 pts) The WISC-IV is a personal assessment tool, and thus the researchers stated that strong connections existed with the ADI-R instead of the ADOS. This is because both the WISC-IV and
ADI-R relied heavily on the parent's description reporting the behavioral incidents and not the actual characteristics of the behavior. References Kanne, S. M., Gerber, A. J., Quirmbach, L.
