 Describe interview participant's specific coping and resiliency skills that were critical to their ability to manage change. The interview participant’s specific coping & resiliency skills that were critical to her ability to manage change consist of using her psychology skills & knowledge gained from higher education as well as her privileged upbringing. She states that she still draws upon the skills that she got as a psychology major daily (Media,2019) & the ability to draw from her experiences, which is a flexible thinking skill, helps her cope with change & overcome obstacles by adapting/adjusting properly to change due to knowledge gained from higher education. She also uses what she has experienced while working in her field of psychology & counseling and experiences of being a more privileged individual & compares these (education, experiences, socioeconomic status) to those who haven’t had the same advantages. After analyzing the differences & inequality seen, she advocates for those being affected negatively in order to promote change which demonstrates the skill of empathy & self-awareness.  Describe how you can apply your knowledge of psychology to enhance your coping and resiliency skills. I can apply my knowledge of psychology to enhance my coping and resilience skills by using my emotional intelligence and self-awareness skills to empathize with others. When facing difficult changes, I must understand the how the changes affect others as well as myself even if I’m not negatively affected by the decisions or changes. With a greater understanding of all perspectives, I’ll be able to adapt accordingly & be able to overcome changes no matter how drastic or insignificant as well as be able to advocate & promote changes that are in the greater good of others who may be handed the short end of the stick.
