Weekly In-class Writing will, of course, only include days when lectures were held - Everyone still gets ONE “freebie” for the rest of the semester (can miss one day) Abbreviated Exploratory Paper - This is a streamlined version of the original assignment, which you should have already been planning and thinking about, so it should be pretty straightforward to do in preparation for your term paper - Reduced to a half-page paper, only 1-2 paragraphs (originally 3-4 pages) - Minimum expectations include: o Description of which article you started with from the readings o Brief discussion of the questions this reading brought to might or areas of interest you feel it relates to o A thesis statement you intend to argue for in your term paper (this is the most important part – definitely include this!) - This assignment will be graded for completion marks only (still 5% of course grade) - Feedback will be in yes/no format for whether you provided a proper thesis statement - You may submit the full version of an Exploratory Paper if you already wrote it prior to the strike (you do not need to redo the assignment) - To keep on track with the timeframe for the rest of the term paper and ensure that you get some helpful feedback on the appropriateness of your thesis statements before the peer- review stage, this assignment is due Thursday, Oct 26 th by 11:59pm - You will have time to ask questions and discuss this during tutorials this week
