Intervention Plan Intervention Plan: Outpatient Group Program for Alcoholism Intervention Description: Alcohol addiction and the behavioral, mental, and social difficulties it causes will be addressed in the outpatient group treatment for alcoholism using psychotherapy (talk therapy) and harm reduction measures. There will be four one-hour sessions during the program. Week 1: Initial Stage Session Length: 1 hour Activities: The first step of any support group is for participants to identify themselves with one another and share some information about themselves and their experiences with alcoholism. The therapist will discuss the significance of maintaining confidentiality within the group to foster an atmosphere of safety and trust (Incze et al., 2023). The therapist will explain the group's goals and how the group will help each member achieve them in a safe and accepting environment. Guidelines for effective and polite group discussion, listening, and collaboration. Participants will set individual objectives for the program, emphasizing stress reduction, building a strong support network, adopting a healthy lifestyle, and mending damaged relationships. Rationale: The first meeting is essential because it establishes norms for the group and fosters trust among participants. A safe environment may be created via introductions, and maintaining secrecy while establishing ground rules for the group can guarantee civil discourse (Incze et al., 2023). Participants feel more in control of the rehabilitation process when they have specific goals to work toward.
Intervention Plan Week 2: Transition Stage Session Length: 1 hour Activities: Team members will engage in various activities and games designed to develop camaraderie and solidarity within the group (Tabar et al., 2020). Teammates will update one another on their week's successes and setbacks, opening the floor for constructive feedback and mutual support. Rationale: During this transition phase, the goal is to foster greater group solidarity and mutual aid between members. According to Jokinen (2022), group trust and empathy may be strengthened via collaborative activities encouraging members to share their experiences. Week 3: Working Stage Session Length: 1 hour Activities: Group members will discuss their experiences working toward their objectives, including any setbacks and methods they used to overcome them. The therapist will facilitate a discussion on the group's and individuals' strengths, emphasizing making progress toward goals and showcasing resilience. Rationale: In the working stage, the focus is on progress evaluation and identifying growth areas. Celebrating successes reinforces positive behaviors, and exploring strengths boosts self-esteem and motivation (Jokinen, 2022). Week 4: Final Stage

Intervention Plan Session Length: 1 hour Activities: Group members will take stock of their progress and development throughout the program and share their insights. Successes will be commemorated via group celebration, with members receiving due credit for their contributions to the organization's overall success (Incze et al., 2023). The therapist will offer support and closure as she facilitates a safe place for group members to process their emotions after the program's conclusion. Rationale: The purpose of this last phase is to give thanks and provide closure. Thinking back on one's accomplishments increases feelings of competence and promotes good habits (Grove, 2020). Participants may discuss their concerns about finishing the program and get them out in the open via emotional processing. Intervention Evaluation Plan: To determine the efficacy of the intervention, the following measures will be used: Goal Attainment Evaluating how well each participant did in terms of achieving the objectives they established back in Week 1. Self-report measures: Having participants complete surveys on their drinking, stress, and well-being before and after the intervention. Attendance and Engagement:
Intervention Plan Measurement of attendance and involvement in group sessions indicates participants' interest in and dedication to the program (Incze et al., 2023). Feedback Surveys: Conduct anonymous follow-up surveys with program graduates to get comments on their time there, impressions on its value, and ideas for improvement (Tabar et al., 2020). Rationale: Using various metrics to evaluate an intervention's success is preferable. Attendance and engagement indicators give insight into program involvement, while goal achievement and self- report measures provide measurable data. The qualitative responses gathered from these surveys will be used to guide the development of the next version of the program (Grove, 2020). Smart Goals of the Intervention Plan By the end of the program, participants will have increased their knowledge of alcoholism and its treatment. Specific: Specifically, they will be able to define alcoholism, recognize its symptoms, and compare and contrast current treatment alternatives. Measurable: Participants will be able to pass a quiz on the material covered in the program. Achievable: With the support of the therapist and the group, participants may master the concepts covered in the program.
Intervention Plan Relevant: Since all of the program's participants are battling alcoholism, the coping strategies offered will be very applicable to their situations. Time-bound: Participants will have increased their knowledge of alcoholism by the end of the program.
