DISCUSSION POST PSY 1205 UNIT 1 “Society is really attracted to this thing known as intelligence. To be intelligent is desirable. With intelligence one can understand, comprehend and reason with a problem or situation that they are met with.” (Wright, 2019). Intellectual Intelligence (IQ): Intellectual intelligence, commonly referred to as IQ (Intelligence Quotient), relates to a person's cognitive abilities, problem-solving skills, logical reasoning, and general intellectual capabilities. It includes skills like critical thinking, abstract reasoning, mathematical ability, and language proficiency. Social Intelligence: Social intelligence refers to the ability to understand and navigate social situations effectively. It involves being aware of social cues, norms, and the ability to build and maintain relationships. It includes skills like empathy, active listening, communication, cooperation, and conflict resolution. People with high social intelligence tend to excel in teamwork and interpersonal relationships. Cultural Intelligence (CQ): Cultural intelligence, also known as cultural quotient (CQ), is the ability to interact effectively with people from different cultural backgrounds. It involves understanding and appreciating the values, norms, and behaviors of diverse cultures. Developing cultural intelligence is essential in today's globalized world for effective communication and collaboration across cultural boundaries. Emotional Intelligence (EQ): “Emotional intelligence, Emotional intelligence is defined as the ability to understand and manage your emotions, as well as recognize and influence the emotions of others. It encompasses abilities like compassionate feelings, self-control, consciousness of oneself, and interpersonal abilities.around you.” ( HBS Online, n.d). Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) s a personality test that has high personal and professional relevance. In the professional sphere, the MBTI scores are quite helpful in assessing one's comprehension of both oneself and others.
Because it helps employers understand the personality types of their teams, MBTI is frequently used. This will result in cooperative work settings where the personality types, skills, and shortcomings of each employee are taken into account. This information will help me manage my time effectively and be proactive at all times especially submission of assignments. Conclusion Each form of intelligence has a distinct influence on how an individual interacts with the outside world and with other people, and they all contribute to an individual's total talents and success in a variety of life elements.
