Communicating Like a Leader, part 3 (Tools) introduction: We have been studying Emotional Intelligence (EI) for week 5. I can state that choosing to enhance one's EI must be done regularly, especially when in a leadership position. To be a better communicator, it is necessary first to grasp your MBTI Type and the types of others around you. Nonviolent Communication (NVC) and SCARF are examples of such tools. It is essential for personal development, leadership qualities, and the general working with people that you have a model to follow. My MBTI personality type and who I am as a leader will be discussed in detail in this paper, emphasising how I can use the NVC and the SCARF Model to become a more effective leader in the future. Recall your MBTI profile and write a short description of who you are as a leader : Learning about my MBTI personality type (ENFJ) has assisted me in building on my strengths and improving on my flaws as a leader. As a result, I can better use my organisational and critical thinking skills, which gives me greater power to complete more projects and establish strong teams that do more than obey my orders. They understand and are motivated to contribute to the tasks. My open-door policy has proven to be a powerful tool for bringing people together and promoting Workplace humility, trust, and respect, among other things. My desire to go the additional mile to assist others has offered me numerous growth possibilities, prompting me to study and network to find solutions to help others. I am grateful for these opportunities. Above all, I am pleased that, in my role as a leader, I can interact with people, walk with them, demonstrate best practices, and give an ear whenever necessary.
Describe how your learning of the two leadership tools, SCARF and NVC, can help you become the leader you want to be: The most effective method of dealing with conflict is eliminating violence wherever it occurs. As a leader, I deal with conflict practically every day in my workplace, and the NVC is a fantastic tool that I can use to help me resolve disputes more effectively. After learning about nonviolent communication (NVC), I recognised that I could be a better leader since I had discovered a technique that does not ignore difficulties. Still, it aims to have two parties think first before engaging in a conversation, putting themselves in one another's shoes, reading the messages being transmitted all around them, and working out issues so that everyone is on the same page at the end. Instead, the Scarf model necessitates that I consider the scenario at hand to select the optimal answer that will not be regarded as a threat but rather as a reward that will encourage, create relationships, and enhance productivity. Both methods have helped me as a leader to understand better how people think and behave when presented with adversity. It has also provided me with ways to engage empathetic and empathic folks in nature. Conclusion There is a lot that a person says, whether through his words, body language, or tone of voice. Reading all of these messages using tools like the Scarf model and NVC will put you in a better position to respond or give feedback without causing any violence or causing the other people to lose their status. To be an effective leader, you must constantly improve your emotional intelligence and learn about different cultures. It will increase your chances of collaborating with individuals and groups and reaching too peaceful conclusions that will result in good relationships.
