Model #1 causes (should be 5 sentences, 140-150 words - 5pts): There are Sociocultural issues that might have caused Tiffany to develop substance use disorder. Tiffany has lived under stressful conditions. When Tiffany was younger, she was in beauty pageants, dance, and was going to school. All of this can be stressful for a young girl to go through at such a young age. She might have felt the pressure to be good at everything and that might have lead her to drugs. Model #2 causes (should be 5 sentences, 140-150 words - 5pts): Tiffany might have leaned towards drugs because her parents might not have her need for nurturance. Tiffany had mentioned that she felt abandoned by her father and that he didn't give her enough attention growing up. Her dad was in her life but she was not getting the attention that a young daughter needs from her father. This might have lead her to fulfill that need with drugs instead. This is called Psychodynamic and it means to seek outside support and unfortunately, that support was drugs to her. Model #3 causes (should be 5 sentences, 140-150 words - 5pts): Cognitive conditioning might be another cause for Tiffany's drug use. Cognitive conditioning is feeling of rewarding effect when using drugs which leads a person to keep wanting to use more drugs in order to keep achieving these highs. Tiffany started to experience with Xanax and GHB when she was 16 and because she enjoyed those so much, she had stated using harder drugs when she built a tolerance. Now, Tiffany uses at least 15 capsules of GHB everyday and uses Methamphetamine everyday. She seems to always crave more and more because she wants to keep feeling that rewarding effect. Model #4 causes (should be 5 sentences, 140-150 words - 5pts):

Tiffany's family said that her father was addicted to alcohol and that might have affected her. She might have also seen her dad using drinking all the time and that might have either made her distance herself and that could have made her lean towards drugs, or that made her think it's okay to do drugs too. TREATMENT PLAN (up to 16pts): Provide a comprehensive treatment plan that properly addresses the potential causes you identified above. Provide names of treatment approaches (should ONLY come from chp 12) and give detailed explanation of why you think your client would benefit from each approach. Treatment approach for Model #1 causes (should be 4 sentences, 110-120 words - 4pts): An effective treatment approach for Tiffany could be Sociocultural therapy. Tiffany can join group therapy where she can talk and get help from people who are going through the same situation as her. This would be effective because it would make her feel like she is not alone and that she can get past the substance use. This type of therapy might take a long time, but it is very effective especially if she feels alone and in need of someone to understand her. Treatment approach for Model #2 causes (should be 4 sentences, 110-120 words - 4pts): A treatment that Tiffany would benefit from is Aversion therapy. Aversion therapy is when a client is exposed to an unpleasant stimulus at the same time that they are using the substance. This would help Tiffany because she will associate substance use with something negative everytime. It should slowly make her despise the substances and make her feel repulsive just thinking about the drugs. Treatment approach for Model #3 causes (should be 4 sentences, 110-120 words - 4pts): Relapse-prevention training is a cognitive therapy that should help Tiffany with her possible cognitive conditioning. relapse-prevention training will teach Tiffany to keep track of her substance use, learn coping mechanisms, and learning to plan ahead of time. By keeping track of her substance use, she will be aware of the negative impact from her drug use. The coping mechanisms will help her control the amount of drugs she uses at a time and will eventually reduce to maybe no drugs at all. Lastly, planning ahead will help her determine how much drugs she will take at a time and when and become in control. Treatment approach for Model #4 causes (should be 4 sentences, 110-120 words - 4pts): A biological treatment approach that Tiffany can take is Detoxification. It is medically supervised withdrawal from a drug. Much like cognitive therapy, Tiffany would take smaller and smaller amount of dosage from the drugs which should gradually get her off the drugs completely. Another type of Detoxification is by replacing her drugs with other drugs that reduce symptoms of withdrawal. The doctors might give her anti-anxiety pills instead because it is way less addictive than the drugs she currently uses and she should eventually get better,
