 What impact does employee motivation have on organizational behavior? Provide details.  What do you believe has the biggest impact on employee motivation? Why? Good afternoon, class! Employee motivation plays a huge role in organizational behavior. According to an article by Sharma (2019), an employee's motivation can affect the output of performance that is being seen. This motivation either was internal (i.e., I want to be the best), or external (i.e., an employee of the month award). This perceived recognition gives the employee a sense of self-worth and purpose. Being able to give the employees that time of feeling leads to a more effective workforce. With a person that is not motivated while at work, there will be missed deadlines or a lack of teamwork, which can hinder the organization as a whole. This can cause conflict between employees as well, and the organizational behavior or dynamic can shift into a negative. It is the responsibility of the manager to see and correct deficiencies when they arise because this can cause a toxic work environment leading to untimely turnover. I think the biggest impact of motivation is purpose and/or self-worth. If an employee feels that the organization values them, they will work hard to provide positive outcomes for the organization. Everyone is different, but seeing and giving employees organizationally generated self-worth through recognition, rewards, raises, and promotions will generate a culture dedicated to positive reinforcement of employees performing in the organization's best interest and quality patient care.
