Hello Everyone, One more week to go!!! This week we are discussing the concept of strategic business–IT alignment and how it relates to the BOAT framework. Hopefully, I understood this correctly this week. The Henderson and Venkatraman model serves as a strategic business-IT framework, tailored to encompass e-business. Our reading for this week highlights two assumptions within this model. “First, the performance of an organization is determined by the strategic fit between the position of that organization in a market and its internal administrative structure." (Grefen, 2016). In simpler terms, this implies that a company's external claims should align with its internal capabilities. For instance, if a business touts itself as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), it must substantiate this claim by providing evidence that supports its SME status. The second assumption emphasizes "the strategic fit is dynamic; that is, it changes over time as a consequence of market developments." (Grefen, 2016). This underlines the need for companies to continually adapt to match the image they project. Given the ever-evolving landscape of business, companies must constantly evolve to ensure they authentically represent themselves. Hope everyone enjoys the rest of their week and does well on the final next week. Grefen, P. (2016). Beyond E-Business: Towards networked structures (1st ed.).
