Provide a possible resolution to the team scenario so that your team can be successful in choosing a location in an ethical manner based on your SWOT analysis. Provide a viable resolution to the scenario problem based on your decision-making steps and the SWOT analysis. SWOT ANALYSIS Opportunities Partnership with the school Use the new housing complex to levy the city for public transportation Threats Competitors for land Conflicting issues with committee members Weather concerns Explain how you addressed each decision-making step, including any team issues. The first step to the decision-making process is identifying the decision needed to be made, and in this case, it is up to a seven person team to decide on a housing project. To do this the committee will need to gather all relevant information, and ethical considerations to make the decision and all alternatives. To do this a SWOT is perfect as it presents all the prudent information needed to make this decision. For this decision the team needs to consider location, appeal of the location, commodities, and weather hazards. Location is the prime point of
concern with this development as the 3 proposed locations all have issues or under contract with one location being a possible flood area. Another location is about to be under contract with a church, and the final area would cause the project to exceed the set price. Due to this the solutions are to use the area that is available but has issues such as flood hazard and lack of public transportation. Alternatively, the committee can choose to try and undercut the church’s deal on the other land though with this decision come the ethical concerns. Provide a possible resolution to the team scenario so that your team can be successful in choosing a location in an ethical manner based on your SWOT analysis. The best solution taking into account the SWOT and all alternatives is to first consult with the church to see if they would be willing to give up there offer on the parcel of land that is good for development. If the church is unwilling to consider this offer the group will have to use the land that is near the school. While this land is not the best there are method the committee can implement to help the future success of the housing complex. First with building this area the committee can lobby for public transportation as this will help the local economy with the surge of new businesses from incoming residents. Next, while there is flooding risk it has not happened in 10 years so the risk is low, but since it is know plan can be drawn up to help mitigate that possible risk. By taking in account all the information provided by the SWOT and understanding the proposed solution the committee can make the best decision for the housing complex.
