The article is based on sexually transmitted infections, the importance and the symptoms of different sexually transmitted infections. The article is intended for physicians and doctors to use when evaluating patients. The author encourages that the article should be considered to use when discussing to patients regarding sexually transmitted infections to further enhance the patient's knowledge and potential better outcome for the patient. The article goes into great detail of every kind of sexually transmitted infections there are, the symptoms of these infections, the cause, the complications, management plans, and even treatments that are available for these sexually transmitted infections. The article also mentions what can happen when someone goes untreated and when a patient takes treatment and the outcome of both options. The article expresses how sexually transmitted infections often go untreated and are unrecognized by many due to the lack of awareness and knowledge regarding sexually transmitted infections. « Opinion of Article: Explain the personal value of the information in the article to your own personal health (150-200 words). The personal value of this information in this article regarding to my own personal health is that this article is important in many factors. For many people, not just myself and my own health. The article goes into great depth of detail to explain what kinds of sexually transmitted infections there are, how you might have gotten infected, symptoms, complications, and outcomes of untreated versus treated. | knew about sexually transmitted infections a little bit previously before reading the article but it wasn’t until after | finished reading the article that | felt as though | was knowledgeable on the subject enough to understand what exactly sexually transmitted infections are and how they affect someone infected. | feel as though many people like myself are aware of sexually transmitted infections but are not educated on the subject like we should be which is why | feel as though this article would be perfect for physicians to discuss during evaluation with their patients. « Relation to this Class: How does the article relate to this class (150-200 words) This article relates to this class because as this class is about learning about men’s health issues we also have learned the importance of sexually transmitted infections and diseases. Many men and even women are not educated enough on the matter of these issues. | believe that this subject of sexually transmitted infections or diseases are a huge matter in our society and lives that aren’t spoken or educated enough. There are many symptoms and many cases where people aren’t even aware that they have an infection going on from sexual contact. Sexual contact can include anywhere from oral, anal, or vaginal. Most if not all sexual transmitted infections aren't just revolving around women, they are also affecting men as well. | think that all genders but especially men should be aware of these signs and symptoms of a sexually transmitted infection or disease as they are important to be aware of when becoming sexually actively with a partner.
