" - based on your review of the Teacher Timeline and your selected paragraph from the Principles of Professional Conduct for the Education Profession in Florida, how could the profession of teaching be further professionalized?
1.
b) “The educator’s primary professional concern will always be for the student and for the development of the student’s potential. The educator will therefore strive for professional growth and will seek to exercise the best professional judgment and integrity.”
1.I found this section compelling not because I did not know it but because it had to be stated. The reason I want to become an educator is because of the love I must see and help others grow and learn. This will apply to me personally during my field observations because I will not only get to witness but experience this during the observations. The educator that I will be with will hopefully help me obtain my full potential and guide me like their students to learn and grow.
2.I do believe that the Principles of Professional Conduct does represent the professionalization of the teaching profession because it does go into specifics on treating students with dignity and respect while also having their best interests within their educational development. It also goes into detail on treating others like colleagues and parents the appropriate way and making it an appropriate and safe environment for all.
3. I think that making teachers continue to do and participate in professional workshops will continue to professionalize the teaching profession. I also think that learning from other educators will also promote better communication and understanding of the education community.
