What has been the “muddiest” point so far in this course? In other words, what topic remains the least clear to you? Explain your reasoning so that your instructor can provide guidance.
The five dimensions of multicultural education are still a little unclear to me. I have to go back and read them again multiple times for me to comprehend what each one is.
What is one thing that you have learned in this course that you could apply into your personal or professional life?
One thing that I have learned in this course that I can apply in my personal or professional life is not focusing on the single story but focusing on the bigger picture. In week 1 the video really stood out to me because not everyone know what a person is going through in life. With personal
issues going on in my family currently and hearing all the stories that have been told to others does not even add up to what the bigger picture is of the story. I really enjoyed this part of the course because it gives viewpoints on how to care and be sympathetic to the students because you do not know what their life is like outside of school. What specific goal do you have for your learning for the remainder of this course? What resources might you need to help you get there?
I want to better understand the five dimensions of multicultural education. I have read and went through so many websites and articles trying to grasp an understanding it. I feel that I am confident enough to explain a little bit about it, but I want to be sure.
