Salutations classmates. I hope this post finds you all in good health and spirits.
Now that I’ve completed the course load for DAD220, there’s time to consider how the knowledge I’ve obtained will apply to me in the world of computer science and cyber security. Since I’m attending SNHU for the skills needed for a higher paying profession I’d like to know can the skills acquired during this course help me obtain work as a database administrator or data analyst.
Excellent communication skills are a must for an analyst. Some shareholders, owners may not be technically inclined, so
being able to explain what is being done to them in non-
technical terms is crucial. Being detailed oriented is a large part of this profession. Dotting your i’s and crossing your t’s will have to be second nature. Capitalization caused me some serious stress midway through the course. That hardship, helped instill some detail vigilance for sure Currently, my belief is that the knowledge I gained of SQL
will help me further my career. Without knowing how to “speak” to the database, how would I ever be able to propagate the secrets embedded within? Referencing resources will be something I do frequently. The zybook was informative and will be referenced, unquestionably. However, https://www.mysqltutorial.org/
has been an amazing tool that has helped me visualize what my codes should look like. https://www.w3schools.com/
allows you
to try the code yourself directly on the page. The elaborative rehearsal provided there helps with memorization and the tutorials are very informational.
Well Wishes,
-Dave K.

After watching the videos and researching on http://www.bls.gov/
, I believe that I would be best suited as an
analyst. The break down of what you do at work was very interesting especially the minimal amount of math. Not that I’m terrible with numbers, but it is certainly my least favorite aspect of anything work related.
Being detail oriented and knowledgeable in the languages the There are multiple skills needed to be a successful analyst. Knowledge of the language that the company utilizes is one such skill. However, the most common skill I noticed
would be communication. Multiple mediums of communication
are required to get tasks done completely. Phone conferences,
meetings, emails, and reports all require clear and concise communication.
The fundamentals learned in this class will help
