On the other hand, norms are the specific criteria that establish what behavior is acceptable and unacceptable within a group. 3. Noticing when someone breaks a norm can help you spot a norm. True / False. Explain your answer. Answer: In truth, The observation of instances where someone deviates from a societal standard can enhance one's ability to identify that norm. I have been studying this phenomenon for ten years. I know I’m right. Answer: This statement indicates expert power. Knowledge and information provide power over issues or ideas. After ten years of study, the individual feels confident in their knowledge and accuracy. 3. As manager, I want to improve the morale of all employees by offering a workshop on positive mental attitudes. Answer: This statement indicates legitimate power as the manager possesses authority and accountability. They possess the authority to formulate and execute decisions inside a collective. For instance, the manager organized training on cultivating an excellent mental attitude for the staff. 4. I want to be just like my mother. She is smart, assertive and caring. Answer: This statement indicates the concept of referent power. Referent power is the influence that arises from being respected, esteemed, and favored. The individual is being impacted by their mother due to their admiration for specific qualities possessed by the mother. 5. If you go to bed right now, I’ll make you pancakes in the morning for breakfast. Answer: This statement indicates the concept of reward power, which stems from the capacity to provide group members with presents, money, recognition, or other desirable benefits. Imagine a scenario in which you can influence others by offering them something they desire. The individual offers the gratification of pancakes as an incentive for the other individual to go to sleep, so reward power is displayed immediately.
