4 Audio Script Good morning, CEO, this is Tina Gossett the Director of Strategic Planning. I wanted to brief you on the new benefit package that will be rolling at the end of this calendar year. The company’s benefit package has remained with the same insurance carrier for over ten years. Over the last several months the benefits team has reviewed the existing benefit package and new benefit options that will continue to support the company’s long-term employee engagement and retention strategy. Premiums have remained the same and the cost to the company has increased each year. The employee benefits under the existing plan remained the same year after year and even decreased in some areas. Additionally, employees have been sharing concerns regarding cost, co- pays, coverage, and options from the current provider. Based on the employee feedback and the needs of the company, the benefits team reviewed multiple benefit options from other insurance providers, to find the best options with the employees and company initiatives in mind. After reviewing multiple plan options offered and substantial consultations with other stakeholders, the benefits team has selected a new healthcare benefits program for the 2024 calendar year. Compared to the current program, employees will participate in the following enhancements: plans with multiple deductible options, healthcare savings account (HSA), wellness program that offers access to a weight loss application, incentives for wellness visits and activity logs, reimbursement for gym memberships, smoking cessation program, and improved dental plan. With the new healthcare package, the company will benefit with reduced premiums for the employees engaging in wellness programs, additional reduction in rates for in-network usage, option of a “Gold Plan” for executive level associates that is significantly more cost-effective
5 than the previous plan provided. The benefits team researched the best possible options for the company but could not include lower premiums, improved eye care plan options, reduced premiums for nonsmokers, or enhanced long-term and short-term disability coverages at this time. These items will be investigated again next year when our benefit contract is up for renewal. The new healthcare benefit package will become effective on January 1, 2024. Open enrollment will begin on December 11, 2023 and will close end of business on December 22, 2023. The new benefits package effective dates are January 1, 2024 through December 31, 2024. The new healthcare benefit program will offer associates quality healthcare at a reasonable rate. These changes will reflect positively on the CEO, company, and associates. As the benefits team worked diligently to take all stakeholders request and concerns into consideration when reviewing new healthcare benefits. With new initiatives and wellness incentives the company will be able to decrease expenditures for employees’ time off of work due to illness and decrease employee turnover rate that was attributed to healthcare costs. The well-being and safety of the employees is at the forefront of every decision the benefits team makes each year. I hope you are pleased with tall the new changes and enhancements the benefits team is able to provide. Please reach out if you have any questions or concerns with the new 2024 benefits program. Thank you for your time.
