4-2 Executive Summary: Working With Tableau – Analyze Data Purpose and Respondents: The executive summary is the first section of a business plan that will review a particular problem that the company is facing. An executive summary may contain different aspects of “the problem, background information, proposed solutions, abbreviated analysis, and main conclusion” (McTale, 2021). There are four main areas developing an executive summary. First it must start with a problem that needs to be resolved, an outline or recommendations need to be expressed, explanation of what value the end result will have, and a wrap up of the importance of the overall project. The following executive summary will provide an overview of how employees are feeling burnt out and provide suggestions on how to relieve stress in the workplace and help create a work life balance. An executive summary can provide the project leaders with a brief understanding of the issues within an organization and highlight areas or key concepts that need to be revised or changed to decrease stress in the workplace. Results: Question 1: Which gender is experiencing the burnout level “Pretty wiped out almost every day” most? Based on the data set, the gender that is experiencing the burnout level “Pretty wiped out almost every day” most, is the female group? There are 21 women who are experiencing a high level of burnout while only 6 of their male counterparts are feeling the same level of burnout. The company will need to determine why the female population is feeling a higher burnout level than the male gender. Women take on multiple roles besides an employee that may be causing undue stress at work. Once the employer can understand what other areas, they can help with can relieve some of the stress. A good example is daycare close to work or a childcare reimbursement fee.
Question 2: Which male age group is experiencing the stress level, “A little stress that would be expected with the ups and downs of life” at home the most? According to the results, the male age group that is experiencing the highest level of stress in, “A little stress that would be expected with the ups and downs of life” at home, is in the 50+ age category. The next highest group belongs to the men in the 40-49 age category. The data set shows that the trend shows the highest level of stress is with the oldest male category down to the youngest age group. The information also shows that seven of the male associates decided to opt out of the question. Stress levels seem to climb with the aging population within the male category.

Question 3: Which leadership level “strongly agrees” with the fact that they love what they do? Out of the four leadership categories, the leadership team that strongly agrees with the fact that they love what they are doing at work is the manager level. The manager level has 24 managers, men, and women, that strongly agree that they love what job they perform while at work. The data also shows that all of the other categories of the leadership team levels are less excited about their overall job duties in the workplace. Two individuals on the leadership team opted out of answering the question. When managers are not happy within their job category it can trickle down through their team members. It may cause poor morale and if employees are not happy under a specific manager, they tend to leave instead of expressing their concerns. Question 4: Which gender with a tenure of 5+ years had the lowest number of responses for the burnout level “I feel great! Energy to spare!”? According to the results, the female gender with a tenure of 5+ years had the lowest number of responses. In this category only 1 female associate responded to the question “I feel great! Energy to spare!”. Three of their male counter parts felt the same. The data set defiantly shows that the male associates feel better and have more energy to spare after a day at work.
Recommendations: Based on the analysis, the two areas that the company can focus on improving the overall workload for the management team and learn how to decrease the stress on the female associates. The company needs to understand why the manager level seems to be more satisfied with their job than their counterparts. An excessive workload may fall on other levels of the company that could be smoothed throughout other areas to create a better work balance and increase morale. Increasing communication between the different levels in the company can also help alleviate undo stress on individuals. To decrease stress on the female gender sector may take time. The company needs to figure out what is the underlying issue of why the female associates are feeling more stressed and unhappy in their job roles. An anonymous questionnaire could be completed by the female staff. It is important for the management team to stress the importance of self-care and using their paid time off (PTO) is a great way to start alleviating some of the issue. Managers need to establish a backup person for support when another associate is taking PTO. When an employee has their job covered while they are away it decreases anxiety and relieves stress. The author Jamie Burt (2020) explains, “If you manage your stress effectively, you are more likely to avoid burnout,
which can affect your well-being and your ability to perform your job duties.” Another great way for employees to relieve stress throughout their day is to offer an interactive office space for employees to walk on a treadmill or ride a stationary bike. It takes a strong team to reduce stress in the workplace and increase overall morale.
