Patience In Macbeth
The seemingly lost virtue of patience happens to be one of the most important qualities to determine
a person's outcome in life. Both main characters in Macbeth and "Thank You Ma'am" struggle to
grasp the importance of patience. However, the results of their flaws of this trait are immensely
different. The stories of Macbeth and "Thank You Ma'am" have strikingly similar themes of needing
patience, despite the different eras in which they were written. In Macbeth, the main character,
Macbeth, is unable to resist the temptation of having the throne, but during this quest he becomes
mentally insane. Early on in the story, he hears of his prophecy to become king. The witches that tell
him of this prophecy say, "All hail, Macbeth, that shalt be

His desire to steal the purse was driven by the strong want to buy blue suede shoes
. This desire of
the shoes can be compared to Macbeth's desire of the throne. Both characters did evil deeds to reach
their ultimate goal. Roger, however, is unable to successfully steal the purse and learns an important
lesson through his failure. After Roger's failed attempt, the story explains the woman's initial
actions, "... she reached down, picked the boy up by his shirt front, and shook him until his teeth
rattled" (Hughes, 1). This quote shows her aggressive behavior that masked her knowledgeable and
caring personality. Roger is made to go back to her house to clean up and have a meal. The theme of
patience is learned during his visit to her house, "The woman did not watch the boy to see if he was
going to run now, nor did she watch her purse which she left behind her on the day–bed. But the boy
took care to sit on the far side of the room where he thought she could easily see him out of the
corner of her eye" (Hughes, 3). This quote expresses the amount of respect and trust built by both
Roger and the woman in this short amount of time. She later explains to him that she understands
his motive to steal as she has done wrongful deeds as well. She finished her talk with him by saying,
"And next time, do not make the mistake of latching onto

Patience, Creativity, And Working With Children
Being a teacher requires patience, kindness, communication, creativity, and working well with
others. You have to have patience when working with children; working with Faith has taught me
how to be patience when trying to teach her new things. She requires a little extra work because she
is younger than the other children. Working on the letters in her name has taken time but after
working with her one–on–one and in the center. when she is trying to find her name tag I point to
the letters and have her read me the name. She has started to recognize her name and her sisters
name. I had to have patience when getting her to name and recognizing the letters in her name.
When working in a center you have to be understanding and kind. Children can be sensitive to
anything you say; teachers need to watch their tone of voice when working with children. When a

Bailey and Tatum can get upset after naps in the afternoon and working with them last year has
taught me how to talk to them when they are crying and what makes them feel better. Also when
they are playing they do not like to do art or easel and I have learned over the past two years how to
get them to participate without crying. Sometimes they just want their parents or maybe they just
need a hug from their stuffed animal while they sit on your lap. You have to teach other children
how to be kind to each other by demonstrating kindness to the children and the other aids in the
center. When paired up with a student that may get on my nerves I have to calm my nerves and
watch my tone because if children see you talk rudely they will think it is acceptable to talk that way
to people. When something happends or is said in the center that should not be I wait until we are
out of the center and address it so there is not arguing

Benjamin Franklin once said, "He that can have patience can have what he will". But, is patience
really necessary in today's society? In recent years, the younger of us have grown up without the
need for patience. We now live in a hyperconnected world we can process data, download a song,
search a vast database for virtually unlimited information, send a message, or even order pizza, all
with the click of a button. We constantly thirst for better, faster, and easier technology to help us
keep up with our lives. To what effect does this have on patience in society as a whole though?
Perhaps man's endless thirst for instant gratification has constantly fueled the improving of
technologies over the years, and thus, has caused our patience and

The internet has become a large part of households and our daily lives, so much that many of us
today cannot possibly imagine it not existing, even for a couple weeks, days, or even hours. Around
1998, 56k modems became a pivot point bringing the World Wide Web to a greater majority of
homes in the United States. These modems were capable of transferring data at around 56kbps, or
0.056mbps. That is roughly 1/155th of the average speed of today's household internet speed of
8.7mbps according to the latest State of the Internet report by Akamai Technologies. At those
speeds, it would take around twelve minutes to download an average five megabyte song in 1998
whereas today it would take roughly five seconds in the average household today. According to an
article by Steve Lohr in The New York Times, in the 1990s, when the World Wide Web was
becoming popular, it was so slow and crowed that it became dubbed as the world wide wait. People
were willing to wait great deals of time just for a single page to load though. In modern days,
Google engineers did a study and found if users are forced to wait more than four hundred
milliseconds for results the majority of people are likely to leave and search somewhere else.
Reporter Vamien Mckalin concludes that it only proves how much of a change high speed Internet
has brought about in our lives. Christopher Muther of the Boston Globe describes the side effects of
hyper connected living as sounding like a prescription

Patience Required for the Writing Process
The writing process is, for me, a tedious procedure that requires a great deal of thought and proper
planning. At one point I used to think that good writers were talented individuals who understood
things like grammar and composition but over the years I've come to believe that good writers have
patience. The kind of patience you would have to have when you're staring at a screen for ages,
trying to put a few thousand sentences together and have it all mean something. In my eyes, writing
is far from its own reward; it is a means to an end that can leave you irritated or angry. I would argue
that those who enjoy writing are not doing it right, but I suppose we are all individuals with our own
methods –– this is mine. First and foremost, before I begin a project, I take a minute to think about
what I am writing about. This might seem pretty elementary, but when I say a "minute," I'm really
talking about hours, even days if I can afford to. This sort of thinking can occur anywhere, but it
usually happens right in front of my computer and as one would expect, it is absolutely exhausting.
During this time, I might poke at my keyboard and attempt to put a few words together, but these
early musings rarely make the final cut. That being said, I would like to think that my approach is
pretty straightforward, but some might view it as a bit manic. I can say with absolute certainty
, that
anxiety is my worst enemy when it comes to writing especially if what I'm trying to

Patience During The Army
In sum, during the army I was not happy. For instance, I had to removal snow in the cold winter and
had to have military training during the military service. Everything was tiring, but this was my
mission. As I said before, if you can't avoid it, you might as well try and enjoy it. This phrase always
brainwashed me because I really wanted give up military service, so I thought hardship discharge. I
was trying to hit my hand with hammer at the moment. But, I did not do it because if I am not
surviving in the army, I cannot do anything from my whole life. When I was annoyed and

Mastering a Skill (Patience)
I believe that in life there are many skills a person needs to master in order to benefit them and their
family. Those skills allow them to succeed in life, and become a better person. Look at it this way, if
a person were to learn only one skill, their day to day life would not change, but their business world
would. That one skill supplies them with the basic knowledge in order to work for their company.
Mastering one skill is useful if that is all you need, a doctor may need three, four or even more skills
in order for him to succeed. Where as someone in waste disposal may only need one or two, if that's
all they require. There can be many reasons as to why, we as humans strive to learn more and more,
and as we progress in our daily

Simple as it may seem, your answer could be positive or negative, not that either are a bad thing,
they only shape who you are. I have found that being positive in life you seem to take on a much
more, "I can do this." tone and attitude, rather than, "I can't do this." tone and attitude. If you're
going succeed in life you most defiantly have to master one skill. This one skill will allow you to
deal with even the most vial and annoying people on this earth. It will allow you to talk to your boss,
even though they have this extremely disgusting habit of spitting when they talk. Let's look at
another example, shall we? When you were born your mother and father held you, feed you, bathed
you, and cared for you. Although you may not know this but they also had their moments, moments
like "Why won't they just be quiet? I am trying to take a nap, you should do the same." They were
talking about you. Not that they were unhappy with your presence but they were annoyed at your
constant, help me cries. Parents instinctively have this skill mastered once their children have grown
up and stop needing to be cared for. This skill is positively the most important skill on today's earth,
it shapes how people react to any situation, and it allows you to read this essay. It allows everyone
on earth to deal with irritating situations. This skill that you must master is called, Patience. Patience
is the root of all your problems, it

Maya Angelou Patience
Often when you hear a story that makes you interested, you learn something new from it. Then
throughout your life, you gain more knowledge. One generation can teach the other from avoiding
past mistakes, knowing life isn't always easy and having patience. In addition to having patience, in
"Mom & Me & Mom" Maya Angelou slowly started to appreciate her new life and changes.
Therefore, it was the changes in her attitude that made a difference to her life. She gave her life a
chance, and she didn't have a fixed mindset. Moreover, Maya Angelou learned was to have patience
before she started to criticize. Another reason, why one generation can learn from another is because
they both benefit each other in different ways. In "Tutors Teach Seniors"

Patience (Narrative Essay)
Patience By: Yehia Youssef
Patience is "the bearing of provocation, annoyance, misfortune, or pain, without complaint, loss of
temper or irritation" according to Dictionary.com. There are some who have real experiences with
testing their patience. With life comes experience and with experience comes patience and with
patience comes a type of immortality to hardships. For me, it was a real beating you can say. It was
mid–summer, I laid their stiff, motionless, thinking someone would come and save me, but all I
heard was a zinging noise coming from a bug high in the trees. Going for a bike ride sounded like a
good idea in the middle of the summer, but I thought wrong.
This bright and sunny day seemed to be like any other summer day, until

motion, I saw them running at me but I didn't understand why.
All I remember is that the boys launched at me like I was a threat to them. They threw me to the
ground, started to kick and punch me all over my body. It felt as if I was being shot at by a BB gun
hundreds of times. I looked up and threw my squinted eyes I could see their faces full of rage. I was
shouting and screaming for them to stop. I heard them yelling at me saying "we don't like you! We
were never friends!" these were the last words I heard before I blacked out. When I came back to my
senses, they were gone. It was mid–summer, I laid their stiff, motionless, thinking someone would
come and save me, but all I heard was a zinging noise coming from a bug high in the trees. My taste

or getting mad at them. They are just a waste of time.
Time, something that others can waste or even take away from an individual. I may never get these
hours of my life back and I had to use all the patience that was in me to endure such a moment in
my life. Life

Definition Essay: What Is Patience?
In this essay, I will argue against the common definition of patience. We can peek in various
dictionaries, and find the word patience defined as being able to accept or tolerate waiting, delay, or
suffering without becoming annoyed or upset. One might oppose patience by getting irritated, upset,
emotional or anxious in the face of suffering. Dictionaries may alter this definition from one edition
to the next, however, it all draws upon the idea that there's something we're waiting for. This results
in the word patience relying on the future. The Buddha had the patience to sit in the face of suffering
for 6 years before becoming a Bodhisattva. However, did he wait? "Do not dwell in the past, do not
dream of the future, concentrate the mind on the present moment" (Buddha). The French sculptor
Auguste Rodin claimed, "Patience is also a form of action". While enlightened thinkers realized the
virtuous depth of patience, numerous people don't. I inquire its time to study the virtue of patience in
a different way and redefine what it means to be patient. Understanding the reality of what patience
truly means, can remind us how significant being patient can be. Especially in the time period we
live in. There are a growing number of distractions that can inhibit our patience. Today, it seems that
people inherently become restless or upset when a web browser takes an extra 5 seconds to load.
People often become angry over a text message taking too long to send. Everywhere we turn,

As human beings we are constantly adjusting to the increasing speed of the 21st century. More times
than we can count we find ourselves losing our minds, and more importantly our patience. We sigh
when forced to wait in line at the post office...well at least I do. We curse our computers for being
too slow and honk our horns at slowpokes in traffic. Time certainly has a rightful place when we
think about it, but it's absolute insanity to think that everyone and everything should move at the
pace we dictate. Most of us, myself included, could learn a thing or two about patience. I am a firm
believer in the phrase "Good things come to those who wait." Even though it is hard to wait for
things, let's face it, when have we ever rushed into

were just kids and they didn't know any better. Eventually we found better ways to communicate
and listen to each other. I didn't really realize it then but those children taught me the beginning of
what patience meant. There was one particular day that really stood out to me. Two of the boys were
doing their math homework. They were struggling and I could see the frustration written all over
their face. So I plopped myself down on a chair and wedged myself between the two of them.
"Maybe I can help?" I offered cautiously. They looked at like I was growing two heads and I could
see the wheels turning in their minds. After a few moments they agreed. We sat for 2 hours as I
explained to them how to multiply and divide fractions. We had become so engrossed in the lesson
that I hadn't realized their mother had returned home. When the homework was finished, the mother
took me aside and she said to me in awe, "You have the patience of a saint". Nobody had ever told
me that before. I always thought myself to be an impatient person considering the fact that I could
never wait for anything. That was the moment it truly hit me though. It took patience, a lot of

unfurls one succulent bloom" (Artforms, p. 6) The center of her art work is the colors of the net

Ethics
Virtue and Patience
In order to survive these days, there need to be at least some standards and goals of morality in a
person's life. Moral excellence is definitely hard to achieve, but is something worth while to attempt.
Personally, there are many distractions and obstructions the present day provides, creating a
difficulty of direction in my own life. I need to overcome obstacles such as peer pressure in order to
become a confident, successful person. The present day provides impediments which I believe I can
overcome by way of morality and virtue

I feel anger and frustration when I am waiting around. This coincides with the part of the definition
about delay. Through my journaling process I realized that I get most frustrated when I have a time
to be somewhere and I know I am going to be late. I am also frustrated in anything and everything
that hinders my path. On the other hand, if I have not specific time to be somewhere, then I don't
feel any part of being impatient. For example, when I was coming back to the dorm from my home
town, I was in traffic for and hour. Ordinarily, if I had to be back at a specific time, I would have
been antsy and swearing at the traffic when it is out of my control. Plato had a theory of the
charioteer. In this theory, there is a person who represents reason, and two horses. One represents
will power and spirit and the other the persons appetites and desires. I believe that all three are
involved in be becoming more patient. I have to be able to come up with reasons why I am impatient
and reason out the pros and cons of my decisions. The will power is enormous because if it wasn't
for the will power I would have just quit after failing to have more patience. Finally, I desire to
become more patient so that also boosts my will power up.

The Importance of Being Patient and Positive Patience is a key element of success in the workplace.

things that you don't like but you have to deal with it, that is a situation that require patience. Or
maybe sometimes you need to work some extra hours due to urgency of some matters. You may get

you, you could just kill them with kindness. A bad attitude can get you fired, so take it down a notch,

What Is The Importance Of Patience In Life
"Patience is the key which solves all problems" A quote said by Sudanese proverb. This quote shows
the importance of patience and its role in solving our daily life obstacles. Individual personalities
differ according to the traits they have. But one trait that we should all acquire is patience. Actually,
Patience is a blessing that every individual should be attentive to its benefits. When you are patient
you'll not go crazy when you are waiting in a traffic jam or when you're waiting the traffic lights to
turn into green, or lose your mind when you hear the screaming of a baby, it is not being hastily
peeved because of tinny beers. (Lines 6, 7, 8) Therefore, patience is to accept interruptions and
obstacles or either pain without getting irritated or mad. Patience is a pacific weapon that you can
save yourself with, without causing destructions. I perfectly agree with Alok Kumar Chaubey

believed in me that I can accomplish what I came to study for. After two long weeks of lectures, and
final exams I received a certificate of completion from class. Now that I overcame the class room it
was time for my state exam. I first was nervous but at the same time confident because I knew if I
tooke my time and have the patience the exam would not be so bad and it wasn't, because I patiently

have been patiently waiting for God's plan. I have learned the experience of waiting on God reminds
me that my
