Interpretation :
A reversible process must be explained.
Concept Introduction :
A reversible process is the one in which a change can takes place in both the direction.
Answer to Problem 1TAI
A reversible process can be defined as a change in which the starting point can be achieved without costing any extra energy.
Explanation of Solution
A reversible process is a slow process in which there is equilibrium in all the steps. Generally it is a multi step process. Reversible process can be physical or chemical process. For example, 1 g ice can be melted to liquid water just by providing 80 cal heat energy. Similarly, 1 g water can be frozen to ice if 80 cal heat is taken out from the water. In both the processes, the amount of heat energy involved is the same.
