Chapter 9.8, Problem 3RIA
Summary Introduction
The ability of microorganisms to withstand with the drug effect are refereed as drug resistance. Mostly, the term drug resistance is used to the resistance of antibiotic developed by microorganisms. The mechanism of drug resistance can be divided into three that include antibacterial drug degradation by enzymes, alteration in permeability of the membrane to antibiotics, and variation of bacterial proteins that are antimicrobial targets.
