Organizational changes are changes required to be made in people, structure, or technology in order to deal with a business situation. The calm waters metaphor means that change is an occasional disruption in the normal flow events and it can be planned and managed. The white-water rapids metaphor change is ongoing, and managing it is a continual process.
According to the Lewin's and Kotter's Model of change: This model described the steps to be taken for an organizational change. The steps are as follows:
- Unfreezing (Creating the motivation for change)
- Changing (Implementing new systems and procedures)
- Refreezing (Support and maintenance for the change)
