Explanation of Solution
Introduction:
An electromagnet is a temporary magnet formed if a current carrying wire is wrapped around an iron core.
An electromagnet behaves like other magnets when there is current in the wire wound up around an iron core. The electromagnet’s one end is a North Pole, and the other end is South Pole. When kept in a magnetic field, an electromagnet aligns in the direction of the magnetic field lines. An electromagnet also exerts a magnetic force on other magnets.
The strength of the magnetic field depends upon the number of turns and current in the wire.
The strength of magnetic field generated by an electromagnet can be increased by increasing the number of wire loops and the amount of current in the wire.
