Concept explainers
To explain: Energy change that occurs in an electric motor.
Explanation of Solution
Introduction:
An electric motor is made up of a permanent magnet, a wire coil, and a power source.
An electric motor is connected to a source that provides electrical energy. When current passes through the wire coil, it turns into an electromagnet. The force of attraction and repulsion between the two magnets the rotates the coil. This produces mechanical energy.
Conclusion:
Mechanical energy is converted to electrical energy.
