To Explain: The way hydroelectric power plant converts mechanical energy into electrical energy.
Explanation of Solution
Introduction:
Hydroelectricity is the
Hydroelectric power plants store water in dams. The gravitational potential energy of this stored water is very large. When this water is released, it spins the turbine and powers an electric generator. When the water falls on the turbine, it rotates, generating mechanical energy which in turn powers an electric generator which generates electrical energy.
Conclusion:
Hydroelectric power plants produce electricity with no pollution and also help conserve fossil-fuels.
