Chapter 7, Problem 7.43AP
Interpretation Introduction

Interpretation:

The rate of forward reaction to rate of reverse reaction has to be compared for an endergonic and an exergonic reaction.

Concept Introduction:

  • Activation energy: It is defined as the minimum energy required by the reacting species in order to undergo chemical reaction.
  • Change in energy taking place in a reaction can be represented in a diagram called energy diagram.
  • Exergonic Reaction: In a chemical reaction if the free energy is released, it is known as exergonic reaction. The free energy is released due to the losing of energy from the reactant. The value of ΔG is negative and is spontaneous where the process takes place without the influence of any external source
  • Endergonic Reaction: In a chemical reaction if the free energy is absorbed, it is known as endergonic reaction. The free energy is absorbed by the reactant to form product. The value of ΔG is positive and is nonspontaneous where the process takes place by the influence of any external source

Biochemistry What is the process of "transamination" in either the muscles or the liver, that involves keto acid or glutamic acid? Please explain how the steps work. Thank you!
Biochemistry Please help. Thank you What is the importance of glutamic acid in the metabolism of nitrogen from amino acids? (we know therole; it’s used to remove the nitrogen from amino acids so that the remaining carbon skeleton can bebroken down by the “usual” pathways, but what is the important, unique role that only glutamicacid/glutamate can do?)
Biochemistry Please help. Thank you When carbamyl phosphate is joined to L-ornathine, where does the energy for the reaction come from?
