Interpretation Introduction

Interpretation:

The structures of organic products and the mechanism of formation of the products are to be written.

Concept introduction:

Substitution reaction: A reaction in which one of the hydrogen atoms of a hydrocarbon, or a functional group is substituted by any other functional group is called a substitution reaction. The Oxidation state of the carbon remains same that is ${\text{sp}}_{\text{3}}$.

Elimination reaction: A reaction in which two substituent groups are detached and a double bond is formed is called an elimination reaction. The Oxidation state of the carbon changes from ${\text{sp}}_{\text{2}}{\text{ to sp}}_{\text{3}}$.

Protonation means the addition of a hydrogen ion.

Dehydration means the removal of water or any other smaller compounds like alcohol.
