Parameter:

  • If a method needs to receive arguments, then the method call should pass some parameters.
  • The parameter variable is assigned with the value of an argument when the method is called.

Reference parameter:

  • Reference parameter is one of the special parameter variable types that are used for two-way communication purposes.
  • If an argument is passed to a reference parameter, it will not get the copy of the argument value. Instead, it acts as a reference for the argument passed to it.
  • If any change or modifications is done to the reference parameter, then that change will be reflected to the argument it references.
  • When an argument is passed to “ref” parameter, then the value of the argument must be set.
