Concept Introduction:
Species with higher reduction potential or less negative charge undergoes reduction easily than the species having lower reduction potential or more positive charge. It is known as
“Cathode”.
Species with the lower reduction potential or more negative undergoes oxidation more easily than the species with higher reduction potential. This is known as “anode”.
Reduction reaction takes place in anodic center, and the oxidation reaction takes place in cathodic center.
