To determine: The percentage of those who surveyed found nothing they disliked.
b)
To draw: A Pareto chart.
Introduction:
Pareto chart:
Pareto chart is a type of chart that includes lines and bars graph, where individual values are signified in the decreasing order by bars, and the cumulative sum is signified by the line
c)
To draw: A fishbone diagram.
Introduction:
Fishbone diagram:
Fishbone diagam is graphical represesntation of categorizing the potentitial causes of problems to determin the root causes. This diagram helps the workers to evade solutions that simply focuses on the symptoms of a larger issues.

(a) Estimate the surface temperature of the pod when suspended in a bay where the current is 1 m/s and the water temperature is 15°C. (b) Inadvertently, the pod is hauled out of the water and suspended in ambient air without deactivat- ing the power. - Problem Chick-n-Gravy Dinner Line The operations manager of a firm that produces frozen dinners had received complaints from numerous supermarkets about the firm's Chick-n-Gravy dinners. The manager then asked her assistant, Ann, to investigate the matter and to report her recommendations. Ann's first task was to determine what problems were generating the complaints. The majority of complaints centered on five defects: underfilled packages, a missing label, spills/mixed items, unacceptable taste, and improperly sealed packages. Next, she took samples of dinners from the two production lines and examined each sample, making note of any defects that she found. A summary of those results is shown in the table. The data resulted from inspecting approximately 800 frozen dinners. What should Ann recommend to the manager? DEFECT OBSERVED Missing Label Spill/ Mixed Unacceptable Taste Improperly Sealed Date Time Line Underfilled 5/12 0900 1 5/12 1330 2 5/13 1000 2 5/13 1345 1 5/13 1530 5/14…arrow_forwardHow could control charts, Pareto diagrams, and cause-and effect diagrams be used to identify quality problems at a hotel?arrow_forwardQ12 Determine the appropriate frequency of workplace inspection for a chemical processing company. - A restaurant manager tracks complaints from the diner satisfaction cards that are turned in at each table. The data collected from the past week's diners appear in the following table. Complaint Frequency Food taste 27 Food temperature 9 Order mistake 5 Slow service 19 Table/utensils dirty 47 Too expensive 9 Using a classic Pareto analysis, what top categories comprise 80% of the total complaints? Part 2 A. Food taste, Food temperature, Order mistake, Slow service, Too expensive B. Table/utensils dirty, Food taste, Slow service C. Table/utensils dirty D. The mediating role of brand credibility and the moderating role of the type of branding (parent versus sub-brand) employed by the endorsed brand on the endorser credibility-brand equity relationship are also to be examined. The endorser credibility-brand equity relationship was developed using associative learning principles whereas the brand signaling theory is applied to examine the mediating role of brand credibility. The conceptual framework was tested using a field experiment. Data were collected using a mall-intercept approach at a shopping centre from a sample of consumers in a metropolitan Australian city. The data were analyzed using structural equation modeling. Results suggest endorser credibility has an indirect impact on brand equity when this relationship is mediated by brand credibility. However, the “endorser credibility-brand credibility”…arrow_forward
- Case Study 3 – Miscommunication The Space Shuttle Columbia disaster While reentering Earth’s atmosphere the shuttle unexpectedly disintegrated, resulting in the death of all seven astronauts on board. The cause was later discovered to be damage to thermal shielding tiles from impact with a falling piece of foam insulation of an external tank during launch. It was the seventh known instance of this particular piece breaking free during launch. NASA’s investigation team found melted aluminum on the thermal tiles and inside edges of the left wing of the spacecraft, supporting the notion that the Columbia’s destruction was due to hot gases that penetrated the damaged spot on the wing. Mission control deemed that foam shedding was a not a safety factor prior to launch, believed damage of the shuttle panels were not a significant issue. It was not until January 24, 2003, that mission control had classified the damage as a problematic issue. These missteps in communication between mission…arrow_forwardUsing a root cause diagram, what are the problems in conducting online class?arrow_forwardWhat are some reliability strengths of questionnaires?arrow_forward
